TRIBUTES FOR KINGS HAS JUST BEEN PUBLISHED!

The Stations of the Cross are the fourteen traditional panels recalling Christ's journey to the cross. From the fifteenth century these moments have been depicted in nearly every media from carved plaques to paintings and sculpture. These are my own versions using the technique I developed called "oilgraphing" which blends photography, oil color and other media. It was my intention to stay true to the iconic nature of the traditional imagery and yet allow for mystery and the individual's personal emotional connection. But one of the most important aspects of making these Stations was to take them one panel further to The Resurrection. So concluding the series is Station Fifteen "Triumph," which before the attending audience at Asbury Theological Seminary April 18, 2005 where the series first premiered.

Their creation was made possible by a grant from Calvin College and the support of Tribe of Los Angeles. The journney in creating them was a deeply collaborative effort of multiple communities coming together for the single purpose of not just making the final work but in the process of shooting the imagery, become a living Stations of the Cross.

Take your time when "walking" these stations and allow for God's Spirit to speak.

The Stations are currently back in Los Angleles after having toured for two years. Special thanks to the 930 Gallery in Louisville, KY for all of their support.
