"Triumph" "Very early in the morning, on the first day of the week, they came to the tomb when the sun had risen...." Angels are fearsome beings..."Fear Not," they say for their appearance is often terrifying. Here we see the angel declaring the resurrection of Jesus before the empty tomb. ""Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: 'He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.' Now I have told you." For
the angel I chose to show all of those moments at once giving it nine
arms and hands. The women huddle before the tomb and if you look closely,
the abandoned weapons left by the soldiers litter the ground near the
stone that was not just rolled away, but hurled away and lies broken
in the bottom right.
