The Sword of Ehud

The Sword of Ehud

$0.00

Ehud’s weapon is the only sword described in any detail in the book of Judges. "Now Ehud had made a double-edged sword about a cubit long, which he strapped to his right thigh under his clothing." That's roughly 18" and I envisioned it to be raw and made hastily for the singular purpose of killing Eglon, the oppressive Moabite king. It wouldn’t have had a hilt, for it passed straight through Eglon’s body in one the most graphic descriptions in Scripture.

The sword was forged by master sword smith Scott Roush who brought to the weapon his signature raw style. He chose a Naue II profile which was a common sword type of that period. it is a stunning beauty in real life and I was honored he volunteered to make it for this series.
