FIELDS OF WAR (gunpowder dandelions) is a departure - Gunpowder possesses its own uncontrollable and insistent voice. It may allow you a degree of influence but once the spark is set, it blazes with its own fury and beauty and It’s only when the smoke dissipates that you witness what it spoke on the surface. And that is the magic of gunpowder art.
The series began as an experiment. To interpret something iconically gentle but imbue it with ferocity. They started simply, but quickly grew more complex with each ignition and took on greater meaning with each piece. I didn’t intend them to be commentary, but they chose to be anyways.
