MIXED-MEDIA OILGRAPH // TRADITIONAL PHOTO, ACRYLIC, OIL AND BLOOD ON WOODEN PANEL // 16x32
-Photographed with a Mamiya RZ67 on Ilford 400 film developed in Agfa Rodinal-
NO DIGITAL
Third of the nine piece series commissioned for the film Magnum Opus
The script called for a piece of thumb drive and I had no idea how to make it interesting.
The point being that the main character was a cryptologist about to release military secrets.
I'm good with photographing people, but not so much with objects. So, for some reason I decided to freeze it in ice and shoot it emerging as it melted. Still not sure if that reads, but it doesn't really matter I think. Using the 6x7 allowed me to get a nice shallow depth of field.
Like all the other pieces, there is buried imagery in the work. Below is a detail shot of a key hole that's embedded in the work.
