Oilgraph on wooden panel // 24” x 48”
Shamgar is mentioned only briefly in Judges. He is recorded to have slain 650 Philistines with an ox-goad which is a mere farming tool to move cattle.
In the piece, the weapon is actually a military tent pole filed down into a point. The work debuted at the Directors Guild of America for the film festival, ‘The Cost of Heroism” hosted by Randall Wallace, author of Braveheart.
