The ongoing series dedicated to the Old testament book of Judges.
I believe Judges is the “uncanny valley” of the Bible, much like the wild west where everyone did what they wanted and the land was lawless.
It was a cyclical descent into madness and violence for there were no kings, no consistent leadership - only “Judges” who for a time were called as deliverers for the people who for centuries found themselves in repeated chains of oppression due to their rebellion.
But any freedom was short lived, for when the Judge died, the people returned to their selfish behavior and ended up worse than they were before.
