Photographing the Stations
Photographing the Stations

I approached the capturing of the Stations more like theatre than a photography shoot. Nothing remained still, everything was in motion. Once the actors were in place and directions given, it became more like a play. Genuine emotions arose, real tears were shed and often the bruises were actual. I had only fifteen shots per roll of film, so photographing was more akin to hunting and you didn’t fire until you saw the moment through the viewfinder.
The entire series was shot over the course of four days on fifty rolls of film.
