Abimelek was the most murderous characters in all of Judges, killing all seventy of his brothers in a single day. With him were his thug assassins to do the bloody work. Though not described in the book, it felt important to put a face to them.

The costumes were made from raw leather, cloth and fur while the mask and weapons were fashioned from bone. The concept of a bone mace was too appealing not to create.
